  • A leading supplier in the hospitality industry is seeking to recruit a highly ambitious candidate to fill in the following position at their Nairobi office: Warehouse Manager

  • Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for leading warehouse operations by planning, monitoring and coordinating the reception, storage and issue of production materials and products in an efficient and timely manner.

    Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of warehouse policies and procedures in line with organisational objectives and best practices;

  • Develop warehouse work plans and allocate work to warehouse personnel and follow up on execution;

  • Keep abreast with warehouse best practices and conduct market research on new prices, items and suppliers so as to ensure the company gets the best prices with uncompromised qualities;

  • Manage inventory control levels to avoid costly delays, stock outs and lost sales opportunities;

  • Maintain good relationship with suppliers to ensure timely supply of production materials at agreed costs;

  • Ensure proper labelling and categorisation of materials and products in the warehouse for timely identification and dispatch when required;

  • Ensure that all goods and materials purchased are received and verified against purchase orders;

  • Collaborate with other managers to determine internal supply needs and plan appropriately to avoid deficits;

  • Forecast future orders and plan accordingly so as to make any adjustments necessary for timely issue of orders;

  • Maintain proper records on warehouse
    operations for reference as and when required;

  • Manage and review the performance of Warehouse team, identify any performance and training gaps and plan accordingly to bridge them; and

  • Perform any other duties as entrusted from time to time.

    Key Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree or equivalent, in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management or a relevant field;

  • At least eight (8) years’ relevant work experience in FMCG hospitality sector;

  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse professional standards and best practices

  • In-depth market knowledge and ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders;

  • Good understanding FMCG hospitality operations;

  • Exemplary planning skills;

  • High level of integrity; and

  • Excellent team management skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of Tally System.
