War Child Holland Programme Manager Jobs in Uganda


Your Challenge

  • Programme management You are responsible for programme and grant management and you lead the development of new programs. You develop and support institutional fundraising strategies. You provide oversight in the management and development of key in-country donor relationships and overall donor development strategies. You provide technical assistance to programs.
  • Human resource management You manage the programme department staff, you are a member of the Country Management Team, and you report to the Country Director.
  • Representation & networking You actively develop and maintain relationships with local government, UN agencies, other NGOs; donors and communities, among others through representing War Child in coordination platforms and participating in fundraising and representation activities. You identify and establish sustainable strategies with funding donor agencies. You identify and establish strategies with program partner organizations.

    Your Profile

  • Essential: • Post-graduate degree in International Development, Child Protection, Psychology, Education, Social Sciences or equivalent demonstrable experience in relevant fields (social work, community development); • Minimum seven years senior management experience of development programs with leadership responsibilities; • A successful track record in initiating, cultivating and securing support from a range of institutional and government donor agencies; • Strong diplomacy skills; ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with partners, donors and other stakeholders in a sensitive environment; • Experience of monitoring and evaluation methodologies, tools and systems (participatory methodologies); • Excellent English writing ability and verbal skills for project proposals, reports and communications; • Affinity with WCH’s mandate.
  • Desirable : • Specialization in Education • Strong technical skills in psycho social support
    or Child Protection • Knowledge of Uganda and of Great Lakes Region dynamics (economic and socio-political context)
