Wananchi Group Systems Engineer – Application Developer Jobs in Kenya

Job Purpose / Summary:

To develop, install, and maintain Wananchi Group Network and Systems and Applications..

Key Roles:

Develop or adapt existing software for use in various systems and products within the business
using java and other open-source scripting tools like UNIX/Linux shell scripting and php.

Installation, configuration, customization and administer UNIX/Linux based e-Mail servers,
DNS, Database servers, caching servers and network monitoring systems.

Administration of database management systems – Oracle, PostgresSQL, MySQL, Firebird and
MS-SQL

Planning and implementation of systems upgrades to keep up with technological
advancements/enhancements

Responsible for systems security and integrity

Generation and analysis of reports from the various monitoring systems

Developing software solutions to meet customer needs.

Creating and implementing the source code of new applications.

Testing source code and debugging code.

Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications

Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features.

Create Machine Learning algorithims for specific task eg Churn Prediction.

Research, development and

implementation of new systems technologies.

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

System Documentation

Submission of daily/weekly/monthly reports
