Role overview

  • Lead on Programme Development, Management and Business Pursuit endeavor

    Skills, qualifications and experience
  • Post Graduate Degree in Education Management, Special needs education or other relevant social Science fields
  • Very good understanding of the overall country’s Education Sector System functions and operation with good professional relationship with Government Federal and regional bureaus, Education sector development actors, academic institutions and other structures
  • Minimum of 10 years’ work experience at least three years shall be in INGO setting with more or less similar Senior position role which also entails team management responsibilities
  • Demonstrated program management and leadership experience beyond academic setting which may include Teacher Development programmes, School improvement programmes, girls education, etc., at regional and Federal level
  • Proven Knowledge and experience of Education quality improvement programmes with sound programmatic understanding of special needs education, pre-primary, primary education, its equity elements, including education in emergency
  • Active participant in technical working groups and well informed of Education thematic areas including, but not limited to, special needs, education in emergency, and pre-primary education
  • Well established business development and resource mobilisation experiences with proven track record of achievements both in securing funds and management of donor partners
  • Very good
    experience of representing own organisation in different national and regional fora

    Desired :

  • Technical knowledge of M&E
  • Significant level of understanding of the country context in VSOE target locations
  • Budget and grants development and management skills.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills

    Ability to demonstrate:

  • Team Management and Coordination: experience of leadership and high level coordination and management of people
  • Communication - Excellent verbal and written communications and report writing skills
  • Representation and negotiation skills – ability to negotiate difficult deals and maintain relations with stakeholders
  • Planning and Time Management – Excellent in prioritising tasks, time management, effective while working under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Financial – being well versed with financial requirement and able to capture top line indicators of financial performance
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office word, outlook and excel.
  • Flexibility to adapt, positive attitude towards change, and constructive and creative approach to problem solving
  • Strong team player
