Job Description

Role overview

To support Education program through participating in project designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Specifically, to coordinate and support the Education Project (UNICEF funded) on a day-to-day basis to contribute to the delivery of the programme at the quality and outcome desired and as per the time and budget specifications.

Addis Ababa with frequent field travel

Job Requirements

Skills, qualifications and experience required

University degree in Education, Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or other related Social Science fields

Five years related work experience in program/project management of which at least three years shall be in NGO

Proven project management experience which includes project designing, implementation, coordination, provision of technical guidance to partners including monitoring, evaluation and reporting

Good understanding of the relevant sector country systems and working relationship with or experience in government bureaus

Experience with participatory approaches to education, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, or other related area

Experience working with IDPs, refugees and other vulnerable populations

Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize

work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility

Advanced computer skills in MS Office word, outlook and excel

Ability to travel and spend significant amount of time out of Addis Ababa

Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well

Excellent command of English language
