Key Responsibilities
This is a product specialist role responsible for the development of integrated consumer propositions for Visa’s clients or fintech partners (i.e. on a case by case basis).
This includes driving the sell-in of Visa’s developer platform (VDP) and other digital offerings, along with Visa’s core products and consumer benefits, to deliver holistic solutions to Visa clients in South Africa and Southern Africa.
Market Knowledge
Stay updated with global and regional payment technology trends, including sufficient knowledge of Visa’s product offerings to be able to identify potential applications, in an integrated fashion
Understand client needs in key SSA markets and identifies opportunities and challenges, and connects the dots between product, design, technology, and strategy to solve complex problems with diverse internal and external stakeholders
Product Development, Sales
and Delivery
Engage with Visa clients and fintech partners, in conjunction with Product colleagues or other cross-functional teams, to co-create solutions and enable Visa digital capabilities across South African and Southern African client bases.
Strong involvement in the early stages of research, ideation and storytelling and collaborate with teams through the iteration and implementation process.
Work closely with the CEMEA Innovation Centre and Digital Solutions Teams to gather and distribute insights and solution enablement across the product teams.
Being experienced in API software development, this individual will play an active project management role to bring together client partners, designers, technologists, and subject matter experts to facilitate solution designs, executions, and scaling of new product concepts.
Localise VDP and digital solution decks (for sell-in of capabilities, thought leadership, training, etc.)
Support key business development opportunities, provide input and expertise to pitches, RFPs, and new or existing client opportunities
Product Performance Management
Track the performance and delivery of client solutions and subsequent launches, whilst providing regular reporting and updates
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in business, engineering, technology or equivalent, Masters degree advantageous but not a requirement
4+ years (with Bachelors degree) or 2+ years (with Masters degree) of experience, spanning retail banking, payments, digital/technology, or consulting
Proven capabilities in leading design thinking engagements at senior levels
Digitally curious, with exposure to digital product management and API technologies, with coding experience advantageous
Strong analytical skills, problem solver
Proven track record of successful planning and execution in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to execute independently and operate successfully within a matrix/team environment
Good verbal and written communication skills, thought leader
Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a matrix organization, as well as vendors and clients
Self-directed and motivated, with an entrepreneurial spirit
Proficient user of all Microsoft Office products
Knowledge of Visa products, payments or international business are advantages, but not minimum requirements
