Our client in the hospitality industry is seeking to recruit a highly talented, skilled, and dynamic professional to fill in the following position based in Nairobi.

Reporting to the Finance and Admin Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the daily restaurant operations by managing restaurant staff development and performance, recruitment, and selection, inventory, food ordering, stocks and supplies, profit maximization, and ensuring client satisfaction with the restaurant experience in conjunction with the kitchen manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines are understood and strictly adhered to.

  • Conducting performance and operation reviews to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Managing staff by identifying and delegating responsibilities, providing directions to staff, and ensuring restaurant objectives are met and achieved.

  • Conducting training of staff and monitoring compliance in areas such as safety, sanitation, and food hygiene.

  • Monitoring food preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing, and food presentation.

  • Ensuring proper coordination of between the front and back offices to ensure proper service delivery.

  • Assisting in the menu implementation and improvement of menu items from feedback gathered from guests.

  • Identifying restaurant needs in kitchenware and equipment, placing orders, and liaising with
    vendors and suppliers.

  • Maintaining detailed records of daily, weekly, and monthly costs of revenues.

  • Liaising with external contractors on Jumia, Glovo, and Uber Eats for takeaway services.

    Key Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Competencies

  • Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent.

  • Valid food handlers’ certificate.

  • 3 years of working experience in a similar role.

  • Excellent product knowledge i.e., food and beverage menu.

  • Great customer service skills.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, team management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Good cash handling and reporting skills.

  • Attention to detail.
