Village Enterprise Part Time Enumerator - Isiolo (ASCEND Project) Jobs in Kenya
About the Job
Village Enterprise seeks a full-time staff member to collect data in Turkana County and support the successful implementation of the ASCEND Project.
The Enumerator will be responsible for high-quality data collection, reviewing survey responses critically, and providing feedback to the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team.
Responsibilities
Key Result Areas
Conduct data collection for the core programme and all studies as designed by the M&E Team.
Carry out Business and Business Savings Group (BSG) spot checks.
Prepare monthly reports highlighting key field findings.
Attend all trainings organized by the M&E Team.
Perform data entry assignments as required.
Serve as a liaison between Village Enterprise and the community.
Data Collection Expectations
Provide accurate baseline, midline, and end-line data as required by the M&E Team.
Submit weekly reports outlining challenges encountered during data collection.
Share field-based best practices that may improve programme implementation.
Upload collected data immediately.
Double-check and synchronize all collected data daily.
Business and BSG Spot-Check Expectations
Conduct Business Savings Group and business spot checks as assigned by the M&E Team.
Monthly Reporting Expectations
Provide accurate monthly reports to the M&E Team.
Data Entry Expectations
Enter accurate and reliable information at all times.
Submission of falsified information will result in immediate dismissal.
Submit and upload data in a timely manner.
Community Liaison
Represent Village Enterprise professionally at all times.
Explain Village Enterprise’s activities and community role to government officials and other stakeholders when required.
Safeguarding

Sensitize programme participants on risks of child abuse, sexual and financial exploitation, and available prevention and reporting mechanisms.
Ensure compliance with Village Enterprise safeguarding policies and Code of Conduct.
Report any child or adult safeguarding incidents through appropriate reporting channels.
Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum of a Diploma in any discipline with prior experience or exposure to research-related work.
Understanding of data quality principles and standards.
Core Competencies
Flexibility to work under varying schedules.
Ability to adapt to changing work demands.
Ability to accurately use mobile data collection technologies.
Passion for working with vulnerable, low-income, or illiterate populations.
Willingness to travel extensively within rural settings.
Ability to translate survey content from English into the local language.
Must be a resident of Turkana West Sub-County, specifically within Kakuma Host Community and Refugee Camp Areas.
