Reports to: Project Manager

Location: Nairobi (temporary) and then permanently in Kilifi County.

Our client in vegetable oil extraction, is seeking to recruit a Plant Manager.

Successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational readiness and set-up the operational management system before plant start-up.

Also, to direct and coordinate daily operations of the oil extraction plant.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Develop Operation Readiness deliverables

Build the operational management system

Recruit, manage and develop plant staff resources

Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations

Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping Be responsible for integrity and maintenance of the asset

Optimize production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs
and maintaining quality standards

Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results

Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions

Lead implementation of HSE aspects in the operations

Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards,
metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets

Qualifications and Experience

Degree in Engineering or Business management 10 years in plant manager or similar position

Language

Fluent knowledge of English and local language Required

knowledge, technical or professional skills

Proven work experience as a Plant Manager

Proven managerial experience

Adequate knowledge of business and management principles Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise

Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, inventory Computer literacy

Ability to create accountability and to lead by example

Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
