Value8 Group Technical Field Support - Evergreen Requisition Jobs in Kenya;Support rollout, installation, configuration, maintenance, and technical support of hardware‑dependent solutions across multiple sites. Ensure deployed hardware, peripherals, connectivity components, and related systems are operational, properly maintained, and supported during implementation and post‑deployment phases.
Duties & Responsibilities
Hardware Deployment & Site Installation
Support deployment, installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of hardware devices.
Conduct pre‑deployment checks for site readiness (power, connectivity, space, security).
Install and configure computers, tablets, printers, scanners, biometric devices, routers, switches, and backup units.
Test, tag, document, and hand over installed devices.
Support hardware movement, relocation, replacement, and retrieval.
Technical Support & Maintenance
Provide first‑line and second‑line technical support.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, connectivity, peripheral, and power issues.
Perform routine preventive maintenance.
Coordinate repairs, replacements, warranty claims, and vendor support.
Escalate unresolved issues to internal/external teams.
User Support & Training
Guide users on proper operation of deployed devices.
Train users on troubleshooting, safe handling, and reporting procedures.
Prepare user guides, support notes, and FAQs.
Promote responsible use and safeguarding of hardware.
Asset Management & Documentation
Maintain accurate register of hardware, accessories, spares, and consumables.
Record serial numbers, site locations, users, deployment dates, and maintenance history.
Prepare installation, site visit, maintenance, and incident reports.
Support audits, asset verification, and stock reconciliation.
Connectivity, Power & Field Operations
Support basic network setup and troubleshooting (routers, switches, LAN, Wi‑Fi, internet).
Liaise with providers and site teams to resolve connectivity challenges.
Identify and report power‑related issues affecting performance.
Participate in nationwide field visits and provide
technical feedback.
Compliance, Security & Quality Assurance
Ensure installations comply with technical standards and security requirements.
Support device security measures (passwords, access restrictions, updates, endpoint protection).
Report misuse, loss, theft, or unauthorized relocation of equipment.
Conduct post‑installation checks to confirm operational readiness.
Skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability.
Good communication and user‑support skills.
High attention to detail in documentation and asset tracking.
Competencies
Ability to work independently in field environments.
Ability to train and support non‑technical users.
Integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
Willingness to travel extensively.
Flexibility during rollout, maintenance, or emergency support.
Qualifications
Degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
3–5 years’ experience in technical support, hardware maintenance, field operations, or technology deployment.
Practical experience supporting hardware‑dependent solutions across multiple sites.
Experience in large‑scale rollout projects, government systems, access control, biometrics, POS, or distributed environments an advantage.
Professional certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, Microsoft, ITIL Foundation) preferred.
