Value8 Group Caretaker Jobs in Kenya;Ensure premises, compound, and outdoor spaces are clean, secure, safe, and well maintained through effective groundskeeping, gardening, basic maintenance, and general caretaking duties. Support Administration in maintaining an attractive, orderly, and functional working environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plant, water, prune, and care for plants, shrubs, trees, and flowers.

  • Mow, trim, and edge lawns and pathways.

  • Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to promote plant health.

  • Remove leaves, debris, and litter from outdoor areas.

  • Design and implement garden layouts and seasonal planting plans.

  • Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery (including generator).

  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks around the property.

  • Ensure walkways, driveways, and public areas are free from hazards.

  • Monitor and report issues related to outdoor areas.

  • Assist with setup and dismantling of outdoor furniture/equipment for events.

  • Ensure proper watering schedules and water‑saving techniques.

  • Secure property by locking gates and reporting suspicious activity.

  • Maintain clear walkways, especially in adverse weather.

  • Ensure proper disposal and collection of garbage waste.

  • Keep provided accommodation clean, tidy, and well maintained.

    Skills

    Gardening Skills

  • Knowledge of horticultural practices, plant care, and garden design.

  • Ability to identify plant species and their needs.

  • Proficiency in using gardening tools and equipment.

    Maintenance Skills

  • Basic handyman skills (repairs, painting, maintenance).

  • Familiarity with irrigation systems and water management.

    Competencies

  • Familiarity with landscaping design.

  • Knowledge of regional plant life and local pests.

  • Knowledge of fertilizers (synthetic and natural).

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations for landscaping.

  • Passion for outdoors and plant life.

    Qualifications

  • High school certificate or relevant certification.
