Kenya Utalii College (KUC) is a leading African hospitality and tourism training institution. Established 47 years ago the College has trained over 60,000 graduates from around the world who continue to serve in the local and international hospitality and tourism industry.

The College opened its doors in 1975 and was established under the Hotels and Restaurants Act, (Cap. 494, Laws of Kenya) which has since been replaced by the Tourism Act, 2011.

Job Responsibilities

Developing and implementing the corporate brand

Developing a corporate communications strategy

Execution of the media relations plans which are in line with the College’s strategic interest

Liaison with public offices and partners to identify common themes to communicate the College’s agenda

Management of the relationship with the media houses and new organizations

Continuous development of material for current social media networking platforms

Regular updating of the information on the website and College newsletter

Co-ordination of press releases

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Communication or relevant field from a recognized university

Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Relations, Mass Communication or any other relevant field

Five (5) years working experience, three (3) of which should be at a senior level

Good interpersonal and communication skills

A member of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK)

Attended a Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution

Meets the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya

Demonstrated results in work performance
