US Embassy Secretary & Logistics Technician Jobs in Nairobi - Kenya

Duties

Basic Function of the Position:

  • Position provides logistics support and related services for the Engineering Services Office (ESO) Nairobi related to their technical security equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • This includes performing the annual inventory as well as ordering, receiving, and shipping of materials for the ESO and its constituent posts throughout the region.
  • Additionally, incumbent provides support for other Africa regional posts as requested by the Office-in-Charge (OIC) of ESO Nairobi.
  • Position is directly supervised by the ESO Officer in-charge.

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Requirements:

  • Experience: One year experience in performing administrative work is required.

    Job Knowledge:
  • Incumbent must know the functions of various offices in the embassy, in particular, Facilities, GSO, HRO, travel and RSO, as these are the primary offices the incumbent will engage with on a daily basis.
  • As well, incumbent must know RSO and Management policies, procurement procedures and financial regulations as these affect daily decision making and tasks.

    Education Requirements:
  • Completion of High School is required.
  • Language: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading/writing of English is required.

    Skills And Abilities:
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Windows; and e2, Ariba (ILMS),
    Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is required.
  • Candidate must have good organizational skills, be detail oriented, flexible, resourceful, self-motivated, and have the ability to work independently Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and team work skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask and prioritize workloads.
  • Due to the frequent requirement
    to move materials, the candidate must be capable of handling boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Numerical skills required for inventory. Keyboarding skills is required.
  • Incumbent must possess a valid local driver's
    license to drive a standard shirt four-door truck to haul equipment and materials.
  • Position requires a Top Secret Clearance.

    Qualifications:
