US Embassy Procurement Agent Jobs in Nigeria


Job Purpose

To procure goods and services for all agencies at post, administer contracts and purchase orders, maintain procurement files, and ensure compliance with U.S. Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Department of State Acquisition Regulations (DOSAR), and the Foreign Affairs Manual (FAM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Review procurement requests, determine procurement action, obtain specifications, and estimate costs.

  • Request bids/quotes, analyze responses, and prepare recommendations for the contracting officer.

  • Conduct site visits to vendors, assess capabilities, negotiate prices, and perform market surveys.

  • Draft contracts, purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, and solicitation documents.

  • Prepare contract modifications and ensure compliance with FAR, DOSAR, and FAM.

  • Maintain effective file management and electronic procurement records.

  • Coordinate weekly with Budget and Finance office to ensure timely funding of contracting actions.

  • Review vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure payments comply with the Prompt Payment Act.

  • Conduct market research, update contractor databases, and maintain contractor performance reports.

  • Prepare ratification requests for unauthorized commitments and review COR files for compliance.

    Education Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of college studies in Business Administration, Management, Mathematics, Purchasing & Supply, or related field.

    Experience

  • At least three (3) years of progressively responsible procurement experience.

    Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to learn local market practices and contractor capabilities.

  • Understanding of local pricing customs
    and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
