Duties

  • The incumbent serves as Vehicle Event Data Recorder Program Coordinator, monitoring and analyzing program effectiveness and making recommendations to the Motor Pool Supervisor and the General Services Officer (GSO).

  • Serves as Event Data Record system coach for all Motor Pool chauffeurs and others as assigned, conducting individual counseling sessions and notifying the GSO of necessary discipline actions in accordance with the Embassy’s published policies.

  • Plans, prepares, and conducts small group safe driver training and vehicle safety training, in accordance with State Department guidance, for Embassy employees.

  • Serves as back-up chauffeur, operating a passenger motor vehicle to transport passengers. Reports directly to the Supervisory GSO.

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum three years of administrative office experience are required.

    Education Requirements:

  • Successful completion of high school is required.

    Evaluations:

  • Language: English level III (Good working knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Required skills/abilities: training planning and implementation; presentation skills; ability to persuade others; time management, planning, and work prioritization; good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet research; ability to type with accuracy and input data into a basic database; standard mathematical skills; ability to learn State Department databases; professional written/oral communication; strong customer service and interpersonal skills, to interface efficiently with various contacts including trainees, vehicle operators of all employment types and position grades; strong implementation of accepted record-keeping methods, to include developing a filing system,
    follow-up on projects, meeting deadlines.

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to come up with original ways to improve efficiency of the program and better ways to communicate with customers.

  • Must hold a valid B (code 8) driver’s license and have held it continuously for at least five years.

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds, ability to enter and exit vehicles to inspect DriveCam equipment without assistance, and ability to open the hood of a car and perform checks on DriveCam components installed within the engine compartment.
