Duties

Serve as the Office Manager for the Political/Economic (P/E) Section, providing administrative support for four officers and three locally employed staff.

The incumbent will create schedules for P/E visitors; prepare talking points for meetings; screen and escort visitors; make appointments for the officers; and prepare guest lists, representational vouchers, and invitations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare schedules for visitors and assist officers with planning work-related trips; draft routine correspondence and cables; proofread draft documents and prepared by the officers; make appointments for the officers; review, screen, and prioritize all incoming correspondence and calls; track taskings from Washington and the Front Office and manage tasking list for VIP visits; assume responsibility for safeguards classified and sensitive material in the section; assist and cover for Front Office OMSes when necessary. Backstop Economic Unit and assist with preparation of Gold Key Services, International Partner Searches, and other commercial services.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

  • Four years of prior office management experience required.

    Job Knowledge:

  • Must have broad knowledge of office procedures and administrative management.

  • Knowledge of Leahy
    Vetting Policy and No FEAR Act will be gained in training.

    Education Requirements:

  • Mandatory: Secondary school diploma is required.

    Evaluations:

    Post may choose to add the phrase “This may be tested” after a language, skill, and/or ability. Review the VA template for specific information.

    Language:

  • Mandatory: List both English and host country language (s) proficiency requirements by level (II, III) and specialization (speak/read).

  • Level IV English required.

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required- including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Must be able to obtain Top Secret clearance.
