Duties

The Residential Security Coordinator provides administrative oversight of post's residential security program. The job holder serves as the point of contact on all residential security matters between the Regional Security Office (RSO), General Service Office (GSO), Facilities Maintenance (FAC), and landlords. The Residential Security Coordinator conducts security surveys of all current housing to ensure residential security standards are maintained; by inspecting and ensuring residential security hardware, alarm systems, and other security equipment are properly installed and functioning.

Additionally, the job holder conducts security surveys on all proposed housing to ensure security suitability can be obtained and compliance with the Overseas Security Policy Board's OSPB standards before occupancy.

Based on the surveys, the job holder provides comprehensive reports and other correspondence to the Regional Security Office on residential security upgrades as required. Upgrades recommendations may include but are not limited to shatter resistant window film installation, doors, locking devices, grille work, alarm systems, camera systems, and lighting.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years office administrative experience that includes managing customer inquiries, complaints, and drafting reports and correspondence is required.

  • A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience is required.

  • Applicants
    MUST possess a category B of driving license.

    Education Requirements:

  • Completion of high school is required.

    Evaluations:

    Language:

  • Good working knowledge of English and Kinyarwanda is required. (This may be tested)

    Knowledge:

  • The Residential security coordinator must have significant knowledge of local construction capabilities and practices, and where to purchase standard construction and electrical tools and supplies.

  • S/he must also know generally which contracting companies are capable of the required work.

  • The RSC must have strong knowledge of carpentry, construction and electrical practices.

  • Must be knowledgeable of local construction codes, methods and materials.

  • Must be well-versed in construction terminology

    Skills and Abilities Optional:

  • Skill test might be administered.
