Duties

  • The Information Management Specialist manages Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Rwanda network operating systems (computer systems, telecommunication network, etc.).

  • The position holder assures acquisition and use of latest technologies.

  • Information Management Specialist provides technical leadership and oversee all computer hardware, software integrity, systems architecture, security, training, Internet connectivity, and management oversight and support for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) local area network (LAN) systems (installation, configuration, operations, maintenance, and diagnosis). Additionally, the
    position holder collaborates with other CDC country network administrators and CDC/Atlanta network engineers and contractors to ensure efficiency in design and support and adherence to CDC LAN/WAN standards.

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Requirements:

    Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience with windows operating systems and platforms, with installation, management and optimal usage and configuration of hardware and software and with managing and maintaining a LAN required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with Cisco network switches and routers.

    Education Requirements:

  • BA/BSC in computers, computer science or Information Systems Management is required.

    Evaluations:

  • Language: Fluency of English required (This may be tested).


    Job Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of microcomputer hardware and software technology, LAN operating systems, LAN based applications software, security, communications and diagnostic tools, computer application programming telecommunication equipment and computer hardware and software and management practices required.

  • Must possess sufficient technical knowledge to develop long range (5 + years) plans, system architectures and technology
    implementations to ensure high reliability, availability, performance and serviceability of systems.

  • The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
