Duties

The incumbent's primary responsibilities include management of PEPFAR community grants for HIV/AIDS programming, public outreach and communications. Incumbent will solicit applications from potential grantees when opportunities present themselves that fulfill the goals and objectives of the program and support the program in developing promotional materials, talking points, briefers, cables and social media.

The incumbent will support the Deputy Coordinator in providing technical assistance to civil society and community organizations in their community led monitoring efforts, develop bi-monthly newsletters promoting the work of PEPFAR programs and grantees, in addition to, program management needs.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in program management, international development, and/or government relations, involving working with budget management and/or monitoring and evaluation, grants management, public affairs, journalism and/or communications is required.

    Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of general principles of program management, program monitoring and evaluation is required.

  • Familiarity with host country cultural, political, social, economic, and educational structures, institutions, and practices is required.

  • Familiarity of Public Health and HIV programming is required.

    Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education/Promotion, Communication, International Affairs, or Development Studies is required.

  • Note: NYSC Certificate or Exemption document is required.

    Evaluations:

    This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.

    Language:

  • Fluent in writing/reading/speaking English is required.

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work in a high-volume, high-productivity environment and to work well with others.

  • Must have good accounting and bookkeeping skills to serve as Grant Officer Representative and manage grants.

  • Must be computer literate, preferably with proficiency in EXCEL and MS WORD.
