Duties

The Community Led Monitoring (CLM) Grants Coordinator is a staff member of the PEPFAR Coordination Office overseeing the Community Led Monitoring Grants Program for the PEPFAR Kenya program.

The incumbent will prepare federal award agreements and administer funding procedures in collaboration with the Financial Management section to advance U.S. government objectives related to health; manage small grants to various local community groups and civil society organizations in PEPFAR-supported health facilities, surrounding communities and health districts to investigate and understand clients’ perspectives on barriers and enablers to accessing health services; support the routine collection, consolidation, analysis, and dissemination of program results for corrective actions; facilitate an interagency committee with grantee selection and follow up on high-level advocacy to improve client-centered services and achieve better health outcomes for Kenya; and undertake other duties as assigned in support of the PEPFAR interagency team and programs.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of public health programming experience in a resource poor or international setting is required

    Job Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated understanding of HIV/AIDS prevention, gender-based violence prevention, and community-based social welfare initiatives; knowledge and capacity to facilitate the planning, implementation, and monitoring of health and socio-economic projects and/or campaigns across multiple stakeholders and implementing organizations; capacity to obtain, analyze,
    synthesize, and disseminate data and present findings in both oral and written form; and familiarity with using data to inform decision-making with regards to program implementation and outcomes, including developing qualitative and quantitative data presentations using mainstream software such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are required

    Education Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in public health, business administration and international relations is required.

    Language:

  • English: Level IV fluency, both written and verbal, Level III Kiswahili, both written and verbal.

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong management skills emphasizing attention to detail, multi-tasking ability, structured and well-organized approach to daily tasks, and balancing of competing priorities in a fast-paced working environment; analytical skills are required to strategize, develop, and implement effective U.S. government-supported HIV/AIDS programs; demonstrated facilitation.
