Duties

Under direct supervision from A/Facility Manager, the Expeditor is responsible for minor domestic purchasing, which is covered by FAC petty cash. S/he coordinates the flow of materials between and within a shops & sections. This may include liaising with FAC management to establish work progress.

Also responsible for ensuring that a business has the supplies and inventory it needs to function according to schedule. The incumbent duties include communicating with suppliers about the status of supplies, problem-solving to reduce the impact of late shipments and submitting purchase orders to vendors, and Compile, record and report project performance and progress to management and key stakeholders.

Incumbent serves as an incidental operator of official vehicles and meets all requirements outlined in 14 FAM 433.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience in purchasing commodity items in plumbing, Electrical, construction or similar industries related is required.

  • Completion of Higher/Secondary school is required

  • Level 3 (Good working knowledge)
    Speaking/Reading/Writing Amharic is required. (This may be tested)

  • Level 3 (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. (This may be tested)

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills including inventory & work effectively with WH suppliers and shop foremen to resolve issues in a timely manner and need to have the ability to know maintenance & construction materials and expressions.

  • Must have good knowledge of Ethiopian traffic. Must be able to lift moderately heavy items (up to 25 kg).

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Must have a valid 2nd class Ethiopian driver’s license.

  • Must have had a valid driver's license for a minimum of five (5) years. (These may be tested)
