Duties
  • Incumbent will be Pretoria’s Audio/Visual (A/V) Technician for all non-Public Affairs Section (PAS) events and capabilities. Ensures Pretoria has all required modern A/V systems and capabilities, including fixed and mobile systems with up to date equipment.

  • Trains end-user and technical personnel in these systems and assists constituent posts in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, as needed, with similar A/V related tasks. Incumbent will also provide support to other posts in the region by request with Information Management Officer (IMO) approval.

  • Audio Visual services are to be provided, including Digital Video Conferences, In-house television signal distribution to the Embassy, Internet video teleconferencing capabilities, Sound and Audio/Visual management for events outside of the Embassy and conducts training sessions to keep IRM staff (and PAS staff where applicable) at all four posts up to date. Reports to the Communications and Audio/Visual Programs (CAP) office supervisor.


    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Requirements:
    Experience: Minimum 4 years of professional-level work experience in Pro audio sound systems and Audio Visual field is required.

    Education Requirements:
    Completion of Secondary School and two years of University studies is required.

    Evaluations:
    Language: English level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing; and at least one additional South Africa official language at a level III proficiency is required.


    Skills and Abilities:
    Must have professional knowledge of electronics, electrical requirements for sound and audio visual equipment, including analog and digital audio mixers, digital projectors, microphone equipment, amplification equipment, decoders, video broadcast cameras in HD, still cameras, Laptops, Internet video teleconferencing tools, satellite receivers / decoders and dish, distribution splitters for Audio and video feeds.

  • The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
