Duties

The position supports the operations of the office of the International Narcotics & law Enforcement Affairs (INL). The job holder will manage and monitor INL assistance to host government, implemented by international organizations and implementing partners, draft reports, talking points and be the main point of contact for program and administrative issues to support the Counter Narcotics (CN) Advisor.

The position will review resource requests and proposals, performs reporting, monitor and evaluate counter-narcotics and other rule of law/criminal justice programs and activities in the South of Nigeria. The job holder will draft routine correspondence, schedule and plan meetings, organize and maintain files and the shared office calendar, among other duties. The position holder will also serve as occasional money holder.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience coordinating and managing programs/projects and maintaining a database within an international donor organization, private entity or government organization is required.

    Job Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of Nigerian Law enforcement, rule of law or related sectors and organization is required.

  • General understanding of budgeting practices and procedures, practical knowledge of business correspondence, database management and project management is required.

  • Knowledge of issues related to counter narcotics, other law enforcement and rule of law interventions in Nigeria is required.

    Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Law, International Development, Criminology, Business Administration, International Relations, Economics, Criminal Justice, Political Science or Journalism is required.

    Note: NYSC Certificate or Exemption document is required.

    Evaluations:

    This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.

    Language:

  • luent in speaking/reading/writing of English is required.

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to handle multiple
    requirements and deadlines independently and perform at high level with minimal supervision is required.

  • Numerical skills are required to understand budgets and data collection.

  • Ability to learn technology tools including MS Word, Excel, Access and Outlook; ability to use the keyboard to type, use teleworking tools is required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multicultural team is required.

  • Strong communication skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of contacts is required.

  • Drafting, writing and reporting skills is required.

  • A speed test will be conducted.

  • The job holder must have a valid Nigerian drivers license and must have had it for at least 5 years.
