Urgent Action Fund-Africa ICT & Database Intern Jobs in Kenya;Reporting to the ICT & Database Assistant, the ICT & Database Intern will provide first‑line ICT support and assist with routine database, Microsoft 365, information security, asset management, documentation and digital workplace activities.

The role offers practical learning experience while contributing to reliable day‑to‑day ICT service delivery across UAF‑Africa’s virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities

ICT User Support

Respond to first‑line support requests and escalate complex issues.

Support set‑up, configuration and maintenance of ICT equipment.

Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity.

Support virtual meetings and webinars.

Log and track support tickets.

Microsoft 365 and Digital Workplace Support

Assist users with Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.

Support routine account administration and access rights.

Assist with ICT onboarding and offboarding.

Organise and maintain documents in digital repositories.

Database and Information Management Support

Assist with data entry, validation and quality checks.

Support data cleaning and preparation of reports and dashboards.

Assist with user testing of database enhancements.

ICT Asset Management

Maintain accurate inventory of ICT equipment.

Support issuance, return and verification of assets.

Assist with minor equipment maintenance.

Cybersecurity and Compliance Support

Monitor antivirus and endpoint protection status.

Support cybersecurity awareness activities.

Report suspected phishing or data‑security concerns.

Support adherence to ICT policies and data‑protection requirements.

Reporting, Documentation and Continuous Improvement

Maintain ICT service records and prepare summaries.

Draft and update user guides and SOPs.

Participate in testing and implementation of new ICT tools.

Research emerging technologies and share observations.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Software Engineering or

related field.

At least one‑year relevant experience; introductory training or certification in Microsoft 365, databases, networking or cybersecurity is an advantage.

Skills and Experience

Basic understanding of Windows and macOS environments.

Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.

Basic understanding of database concepts and data quality.

Knowledge of hardware, software installation and troubleshooting.

Awareness of cybersecurity and data‑protection principles.

Knowledge of or willingness to learn AI‑assisted productivity tools.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Good communication skills and service‑oriented approach.

Ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately.

Experience in virtual or multicultural environments is an advantage.
