    Project Overview:

  • The anticipated USAID Empowering Communities – Community Engagement project will reduce mortality and morbidity by strengthening the knowledge, skills, ability, and confidence of individuals, households, and communities to make informed decisions and take action to manage their own health and nutrition; nurturing platforms for communities to effectively identify problems and solutions that impact their health; and improving accountability and how the health system engages with citizens and to offer quality health services.

  • Empowering Communities – Community Engagement will be under the Empowered Communities for Better Health Project whose ultimate goal is to contribute to the reduction of maternal and child deaths and the burden of infectious disease.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

  • URC is currently seeking candidates for various finance and operations positions. Specific responsibilities could include, but
    are not limited to, the following:

    Finance and Grants Positions:

  • Support the Director of Finance and Administration with monthly financial reporting, including the overall budget tracking, processing of payments, etc.

  • Ensure all activity related transactions are conduced, processed, and recorded as per URC systems.

  • Ensure adequate subaward development processes and monitoring and management systems are in place for effective and timely issuance, reporting, and oversight of all subawards.

  • Provide capacity building support to subgrantees in subaward management to ensure donor rules and regulations are followed.

    Operations Positions:

  • Support the Director of Finance and Administration in activity logistics, procurement, office management, human resources, or general administration.

  • Provide general office support including administrative tasks, management of travel logistics, stores management, office reception, word processing, filing, etc.

  • Support project procurement needs including preparation of request for quotations, management of the vendor selection, preparation of purchase orders or blanket purchase agreements and delivery of goods and services.

  • Support management and tracking of office expendable and non-expendable inventory.
    Support the HR needs of staff including the management of staff recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, etc.

    Required Experience & Qualifications

    All Positions:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.

    Finance Positions:

  • At least four years of relevant technical experience managing regulatory and financial compliance required for USG funding, including regulations experience and an in-depth knowledge of USAID financial management rules.

  • Proven ability to prepare budgets, contracts/ subcontracts, and donor financial reports.

  • Experience monitoring sub-awards, including international and local partners.

    Operations Positions:

  • At least three years of experience in project operations, including areas such as procurement, office administration, information technology, asset management, and human resources.

    Desired Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience working for USAID-funded projects or activities.

  • Master’s degree in relevant field.
