University Research Company HIV Prevention Consultant Vacancies in Uganda


Introduction

Responsibilities

  • Gather key information on the landscape of HIV prevention program
  • Conduct a desk review of key resources, including the Uganda national HIV prevention strategy; PEPFAR Uganda and global priorities for HIV prevention programming, USAID RHITES-EC program description, workplans, AMELP and performance targets and reports in relation to programming for HIV prevention
  • Hold discussions with USAID RHITES-EC program teams, project partners, selected Ministry of Health officials, CSOs and selected district teams in the East-Central region to obtain their views and ideas on:
  • The various categories of KPs and PPs and their hotspots in across the 11 EC region districts
  • The most effective, proven approaches for reaching and delivering recommended packages to various segments of key and priority populations in the East-central region,
  • Structures that can be leveraged by USAID RHITES-EC to deliver comprehensive packages of services at different levels of service delivery systems
  • Lead and facilitate the RHITES-EC HIV, community systems, and SBCC teams to design a strategy for provision of HIV prevention services to various categories of populations in the 11 districts of the EC region, focusing on KPs and PPs:
  • Present the information obtained in 1, above, to the project teams
  • Facilitate a discussion on HIV prevention strategies and structures that need to be in place for optimal service delivery
  • Design and present a strategic framework to guide implementation of HIV prevention services to KPs and PPs in the project supported districts

    Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor, with extensive experience with HIV/AIDS programming, preferably in PEPFAR countries
  • Advanced Degree in Public Health
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate and execute ideas, as well as transfer knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form.
  • Experience with USAID and donor projects is highly desirable.

    University Research Company Program Officer Vacancies in Uganda

    Responsibilities

  • Participate in coordination of implementation of Malaria case management including diagnosis treatment and prevention activities in RHITES-EC supported districts.
  • Participate in MOH-National Malaria Control
  • Program planning and coordination meetings and activities.
  • Coordinate provider skills strengthening activities for all components of Malaria activities in the project supported health facilities
  • Contribute to collaborative efforts with a wide array of organizations, including district-level partners, the National Malaria
  • Control Program (NMCP), and other government counterparts to plan, implement, and monitor malaria-related activities including capacity building efforts.
  • Contribute to provision of technical expertise on scopes of work for local organizations to implement malaria-related demand-generation and service delivery activities that target health units and communities, support community health worker and community health group efforts to reduce the burden of malaria, and support the integration of malaria-specific activities into other related health initiatives.
  • Work with Malaria Technical advisor to provide inputs for annual reviews and project strategic planning exercises, and ensures the accurate and timely submission of all required technical reporting and deliverables for malaria-related activities.
  • Work with M&E Team and Technical Director to help develop, maintain, and monitor the activities set
    in the work plan for malaria activities

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and fully registered with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioner’s Council
  • At least 3 years’ work experience in Malaria program management
  • Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with project management abilities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the supported districts.
  • Self-motivated and result-oriented person.

    University Research Company Receptionist/Front Office Assistant Vacancies in Uganda

    Responsibilities

  • Perform general clerical duties, to include but not be limited to photocopying, scanning, faxing, filing, and mailing.
  • Provide office administrative support including organization and facilitation for internal meetings, drafting agendas, and taking minutes;
  • Maintain hard copy and electronic versions of a project archive, including contract and subcontract documents, client approvals, consultant documents, travel files, procurement files, project deliverables, project reports , and minutes of meetings.
  • Manage and document correspondences between project offices, the home office, client, other partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support new staff orientation, on-boarding and other HR initiatives.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, take complete and accurate messages for people who are not available, and ensure they receive the messages.
  • Greet and escort guests.
  • Ensure timely settlement of office bills.
    Assist with making logistical arrangements for project events and field activities.
  • Make logistical arrangements for project staff traveling outside their region or for international visitors.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Leisure & hospitality Social Science, or other relevant field.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience in reception Management or customer case
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other data processing and graphical presentation software.
  • Ability to independently plan and execute complex tasks while addressing daily management details and remaining organized and focused on long-term deadlines and strategy highly desirable.
  • Ability to assess problems and develop solutions.
  • Excellent inter-personal communication skills and excellent organization skills.
  • Oral and written English language fluency.
