University Research Company Director for Community Systems Strengthening Jobs in Uganda

Responsibilities

Community systems strengthening and community linkages

  • Provide strategic leadership to project efforts for strengthening various community structures and leveraging their efforts towards contributing to health promotion and healthcare service delivery
  • Design and manage interventions for streamlining and strengthening community-level systems and processes that contribute to improved healthcare service delivery through community mobilization and demand creation; and bi-directional community-facility referrals and linkages
  • Guide project, district, facility and community teams to use creative approaches and quality improvement methods to identify and address gaps along the linkages continuum of health service delivery
    SBCC
  • Provide strategic technical leadership for implementation of the project’s SBCC strategy,
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the SBCC partner and URC teams and other stakeholders to develop and implement innovative, evidence-based SBCC interventions to improve community behaviors for promoting health and healthcare service delivery and continuous utilization
    Youth and gender programming
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Youth partner, URC and other stakeholder teams to effectively develop, implement, track and document innovative, evidence-based Youth and Gender inclusive interventions; including ensuring that youth and gender perceptive are included and well woven into project health promotion and service delivery interventions
    General program management
  • Support the development and management of community, SBCC and Youth/Gender programming data collection systems and tools
  • Develop activity implementation plans and prepare periodic program reports, as may be required

    Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree (minimum) in Public Health, Health Management, Community Development or other relevant field.
  • 8 years of professional work experience in Health Service Delivery, Health Communication, and community systems strengthening with experience at community-level (experience in working with community health workers is an added advantage).
  • Broad working knowledge of community structures and cultural practices in East central Uganda is essential.
  • Previous exposure and experience in building capacity at individual and organizational levels;
  • Skills in at least two or more of the following technical areas:
  • Strengthening service delivery programs at the community level,
  • Strengthening community-facility linkages, psychosocial support,
  • Integrating health service delivery into community structures

    University Research Company Director Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Jobs in Uganda

    Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and work with other project staff to manage a robust M&E system, identify and monitor key program activities in order to document results and what interventions contributed to the results, and ensure the integration of those results into Uganda’s health system’s decision-management processes.
  • Lead in ongoing review and implementation of the Activity’s Monitoring, Evaluation and
  • Learning Plan (AMELP) to ensure responsiveness to evolving project, Donor and host government needs.
  • Support M&E and HMIS teams at various levels to conduct frequent and routine data verification and quality assessment exercises as per the Activity AMELP and internal needs.
  • On a regular basis, prepare and ensure timely submission of project performance monitoring plans, including developing and defining program indicators and sources of data, as well as contributing to annual work plans, quarterly and annual reports and other project
    documents.
  • Track project monitoring indicators for all (or specified) project health component activities and periodically provide data to the project’s Senior Management Team.
  • Document progress on various levels of indicators attributable to project interventions
  • Direct and ensure coordination and linking of data reporting with technical strategy discussions
  • Provide leadership for knowledge management and documentation for project with emphasis on dissemination and lessons learned and present results of program achievements and outputs in written reports and at conferences and meetings.
  • Develop and manage a robust and dynamic
  • Learning and Operational Research agenda On a very frequent and regular basis, advise project COP and senior management team on trends for various performance indicators, as well schedules for project deliverables as per prescribed timelines

    Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in either Statistics, Biostatistics, Public Health, Epidemiology, or another relevant field.
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in leading M&E processes, quality improvement and Knowledge Management.
  • Experience in implementation of Health Systems Strengthening, HIV/AIDS, malaria, family planning, maternal, newborn and child health, or nutrition is desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in performance management and linking data to improvement
  • Experience with managing complex data sets and databases, including conducting and supervising data analyses, report writing, and design of creative data presentation and visualization tools
  • Experience in working with USAID and/or PEPFAR funded programs
  • Ability to travel extensively with the East-Central region of Uganda

    University Research Company Driver Jobs in Uganda

    Responsibilities

  • Drive project personnel and equipment to locations in Uganda for project activities.
  • Maintain timely schedule set by program staff.
  • Maintain project vehicles, keep accurate records for vehicle issues, including fuel, mileage, and trip logs, and schedule routine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Observe all company vehicle utilization policies and in country traffic laws.
  • Perform daily errands such as collecting and delivering mail, making bank deposits and withdrawals, purchasing items for the office, and refueling the vehicles on an as-needed basis
  • Transport staff or consultants to project sites and offices or for implementation of activities
  • Ensure the readiness of the vehicle, in a good mechanical condition and ensure vehicle is prepared for long trips on rough terrain prior to field visits.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle both inside and out. Ensure that the first aid kit is in place and stocked at all times.
  • Assist in routine office chores when necessary such as photocopying, binding, filing, moving furniture, answering telephones, sending faxes, and cleaning the office premises
  • Carry out routine monthly service of the vehicle, including oil changes and general service.
  • Complete the vehicle log book on a daily basis, recording all travel and requiring staff transported to sign, and submit to Finance &
  • Administration Director for review and approval on a weekly basis.

    Qualifications

  • An O level certificate and a valid driving permit.
  • Defensive driving training.
  • At least 5 years working experience in a reputable NGO.
  • A basic administrative & transport management course
