  • The Faculty of Health Sciences seeks to invite applications for the above position from suitably qualified and experienced candidates.

    Brief Description

    Key functions of the post

  • Develop and produce electronic communication tools, newsletters, emails, notices and other technologies.

  • Develop/execute engagement strategy for joint staff, research entities, students and employees.

  • Provide support to and collaborate with student representative bodies and the Office of Student Success.

  • Manage the Dean’s Office and all of the affairs in the Dean’s Office.

  • Manage Deanery and Deanery sub-committee, including developing the agenda for meetings, managing minutes, following up on actions, conducting reviews and reports.

  • Alert the Dean to important strategic policies and other issues impacting the Faculty.

  • Support the implementation of key aspects of the Faculty’s communication strategy in all media and organisational documentation (e.g. brochures, banners, pamphlets, PowerPoint templates).

  • Develop brand compliance documentation for the Faculty.

  • Keep abreast of (and appropriately communicate to Deanery) information and developments
    relevant to the vision, strategy and objectives of the Faculty.

  • Market and host key events such as the Prestigious Research Lecture in conjunction with the HSRO and the AJ Orenstein Lecture in conjunction with the Faculty Alumni Officer.

  • Manage all media queries; build and maintain excellent relationships with the media.

  • Implement and maintain core content of the Faculty website.

  • Support the strategic marketing communications social media presence (e.g Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn).

    Background Knowledge and Educational Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree,

  • 5 years’ work related experience

  • Excellent English verbal, written and communication skills essential. Must have excellent knowledge of English grammar.

  • Knowledge of a tertiary environment, interpersonal skills, integrity, analytical skills, organisational skills, stress management, tolerance of ambiguity, emotional intelligence, assertiveness

  • Experience in producing compelling copy across all media.

  • Must be able to use a content management system and have digital skills.
