Main Purpose:

  • Drive Digital Transformation

  • Digitalisation of the University managed through transformational programmes in support of compliance with and delivery of new digital imperatives, practices, and policies.

  • To lead the digital transformation program that enables critical business strategies and capabilities.

  • To enable and integrate the respective strategies by driving; business change, business processes improvement, implement best business practices, leverage enterprise data and information and implement best-in-class technology.

  • A distinctive group builds and deploys digital capabilities via disrupting the business from the inside.

  • Work with Faculties to produce digital solutions in support of the academic programme.

  • Implement change management programmes to transform the University to a digital state.

  • Challenge the status quo to provide effective digital transformation

    Key Responsibilities:


  • Execute the Digital Strategy across the University

  • Formulate action plans and policies geared towards execution of University and departmental goals towards a digital state.

  • Drive digital solutions in line with both the academics and the support areas.

  • Translate organisation’s goals and set key integrated strategic digital initiatives

  • Establish the appropriate management cadence, operating dashboards, and governance to align strategies with the overall business objectives.

  • Develop a LEAN culture to drive continuous improvement

  • Establish and track meaningful program and project performance measurements

  • Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counselling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department

  • Conduct stakeholder analysis and develop recommended change management approach and strategy.

  • Develop the vision, communicate the plan, and hold teams accountable

  • Analyse reports, measurements, and external benchmarks to identify opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Establish program and project goals and performance objectives that deliver best-in-class services and solutions to the University

  • Develop and implement training programs to increase the overall knowledge, skills, and capabilities of the team

  • Operate in a direct, transparent, and data-driven fashion, be an effective communicator and forge strong day-to-day working relationships

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the department

  • Build strong technology vendor partnerships, and able to manage multiple vendor relationships to ensure the best performance and financial return

  • Educate the University on digital opportunities

  • Innovate / Incubate new digital ideas

  • Use data and analytics to identify digital opportunities

  • Foster enterprise customer focus

  • Develop digital talent aligned to customer experience

  • Build digital dexterity of
    the C-Suite and the workforce

  • Deliver technology to support the customer experience strategy

  • Accelerate the development and implementation of function-specific digital initiatives

  • Work closely with the company's functional leaders to refine the overall direction and roadmap to build-out and implement the Master Data Management (MDM) strategy. Manage and develop a master data center of excellence to work across the enterprise to develop standards, processes, systems and best practices for the management and maintenance of the highest quality and trusted master data across all core application systems

  • Assist business process experts in defining standard operating procedures, process flows and related

  • Ongoing cleansing and normalization of data.

  • Responsible for developing standards, guidelines, processes, and expertise to consistently address recurring master data issues

  • Ensure data quality, compliance, and consistency of master data across business systems

  • Engaging and collaborating with leaders and peers in evolving Master Data Management within the organization's applications and processes

  • Develop a master data management function that is structure and staffed with a manager and data analysts that are responsible for operating and controlling 4 core processes; 1) daily operational Master Data Management (MDM) processes, 2) on-going improvements and documentation of the data management standards, processes, and support systems, 3) on-going measurement and auditing of master data content & quality, 4) provide master data training and support to the enterprise

  • Ongoing maintenance and management of the MDM portion of the ERP system

  • Develop and present presentations of proposals and scheduled updates to include process improvement concepts, budgets and investment requirements, timing schedules, desired results, value propositions, prioritization schedules, ROI reports and other measurement tools

  • Lead the process improvement changes with a major focus on digital automation

  • Create Process Flow diagrams and perform Value Stream Mapping activities to harvest areas of improvement and cost reduction

  • Provide hands-on leadership at all levels to ensure successful implementation of change initiatives

  • Identify the scope of work through a discovery process including interviewing key personnel, documenting current processes, and identifying current challenges

    Requirements:

  • Minimum Honours Degree or equivalent, but preference for a Master’s Degree

  • Experience – 10 years’ work related experience, preference in an IT leadership role

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work with executives

  • Ability to work without supervision

  • Delivery focused

  • Design thinker for the future

  • Good understanding of the ICT eco system in any organisation

    Preferences:

  • Experience as a Developer, Managing change , Stakeholder management
