University of Pretoria Junior Tukkie Internal Project Coordinator Jobs in South Africa;To facilitate the recruitment of academically deserving students for studies at the University of Pretoria, with a specific focus on prospective students from previously disadvantaged communities. To coordinate and manage recruitment programmes within the division, including UP’s flagship JuniorTukkies (JT) project and the JT Student Ambassador Society (JTSAS).
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment of Prospective Students
Organise and project manage JuniorTukkies (JT) events on and off campus.
Introduce prospective students and parents to UP’s recruitment programmes.
Coordinate faculty and professional service department involvement in JT events.
Compile event programmes in collaboration with the Manager: Student Recruitment.
Identify learners for JT recruitment, focusing on disadvantaged communities.
JT Student Ambassador Society (JTSAS)
Compile a constitution in conjunction with the Manager: Student Recruitment.
Manage and oversee scheduling of meetings and events with the JTSAS Executive Committee.
Administration & Financial Management
Submit detailed monthly reports on JT activities and events.
Administer UP assets in line with procurement policy.
Submit advance and expense reports according to UP financial policies.
Acquire comparative quotations for events and memorabilia.
Oversee JTSAS budget income and expenditure, ensuring monthly financial reporting.
Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement
Engage external stakeholders to recruit prospective students.
Collaborate with faculties and UP service departments in executing JT events.
Assist in organising faculty/JT events.
Identify recruitment trends, collect market data, and report findings.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Marketing & Communication, Project Management, Public Relations, or Administration, with three years’ relevant experience.
OR National Diploma with five years’ relevant experience.
Experience in stakeholder relationship management and project management.
Valid driver’s licence.
Required Competencies
Knowledge of qualification frameworks and tertiary education environment.
Multilingualism.
Strong presentation and communication skills (English and Afrikaans).
Computer literacy (MS Word, advanced Excel, cloud environments).
Organisational skills and ability to produce high‑quality work under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills.
Adaptability, decisiveness, and proactive approach.

Relevant postgraduate qualification.
3–5 years’ experience in student communication and recruitment.
