Clinical Officer II - Scale 9 (3 Positions)
REF: UOE/HS/01/01/2017


Duties and Responsibilities

This position entails:

  • Undertaking of Clinical services at the University clinics
  • Examining, diagnosing and treating patients at the University and referring them where appropriate to the specialist
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by a Senior Officer

    Qualifications and Experience

    The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Diploma in clinical medicine and Surgery from the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) or any other recognized institution;
  • At least five (5) years relevant work experience as a Clinical Officer;
  • Current practicing Certificate;
  • Membership registration with the relevant professional body;
  • Cumulative Management training lasting not less than two (2) weeks;
  • Evidence of continuous professional development;
  • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology.

    Assistant Nursing Officer - Scale 8 (2 Positions) REF: UOE/HS/02/01/2017

    Duties and Responsibilities


    This position entails:

  • Providing and evaluating nursing care to individuals or a group of patients;
  • Counseling, maintenance of records, planning and supervision of nursing services within a unit in the medical centre;
  • Ensuring availability of medical supplies;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by a Senior Officer.

    Qualifications and Experience

    The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution;
  • Valid registration with the relevant professional body;
  • At least five (5) years relevant work experience;
  • Cumulative Management training lasting not less than two (2) weeks;

    Pharmaceutical Technologist - Scale 9 (1 Position) REF: UOE/HS/03/01/2017

    Duties and Responsibilities.


    This position entails:

  • Dispensing and compounding medicine;
  • Verifying and maintaining information relating to drugs issued to patients;
  • Ordering and recording of drugs and other supplies;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by Senior Officer.

    Qualifications & Experience

    The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Must have a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized Institution;
  • At least five (5) years relevant work experience
  • Valid registration with Pharmacy and Poisons Board
  • Cumulative Management training lasting not less than two (2) weeks
  • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology

    Medical Laboratory Technologist II - Scale 6 (1 Position)

    Duties and Responsibilities


    This position entails:

  • Performing general Laboratory procedures for pathological investigations;
  • Maintaining Laboratory records, and postage of
    medical results;
  • Ensure quality techniques and efficiency of reporting, recording and postage of laboratory results;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by a Senior Officer.

    Qualifications and Experience

    The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution;

    Duties and Responsibilities


    This position entails:

  • Reception, registration and scheduling for patients master index;
  • Preparing appointments for patients;
  • Generating patients health records and retrieval of medical records, coding and indexing of diseases;

    Qualifications and Experience

    The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology from a recognized institution;
  • At least five (5) years working experience in a busy and recognized health services facility;
  • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology from a recognized institution.

    Health Auxiliary Staff I (Pharmacist Attendant) – Scale 4 (1 Position)

    REF: UOE/HS/06/01/2017

    Duties and Responsibilities


    This position entails:

  • Working under the pharmaceutical technologist:- to ensure cleanliness and orderly environment in the pharmacy;
  • Assist patients as per the instructions given by the pharmaceutical technologist;
  • Should be able to handle any other duties as instructed;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by a Senior Officer

    Qualifications and Experience

    The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade at least D+ (Plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • At least five (5) years relevant work experience;
  • Basic Computer literacy

    Health Auxiliary Staff (Phlebotomist) - Scale 4 (1 Position)

    Duties and Responsibilities


    This position entails:

  • Carrying out venopunture at the outpatient facility;
  • Preparation of phlebotomy materials and transport of out patient samples to designated benches;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the a Senior Officer.

    Qualifications and Experience

    The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade at least D+ (Plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in Phlebotomy or three years service as a phlebotomist at a level 3 or 4 medical facility;
  • Basic Computer literacy.
