United Nations Office at Nairobi Information Systems Assistant Jobs in Kenya
Responsibilities
Monitor and support service performance across enterprise ICT environments, including wireless and remote access.
Monitor operational security events and report abnormal activities or potential risks.
Support ICT operations during high‑demand periods, critical activities or major events.
Maintain accurate operational records including incident logs, monitoring outputs and handover reports.
Update and maintain operational documentation (SOPs, runbooks, knowledge base).
Produce routine and ad‑hoc reports on service availability, incidents and operational performance.
Identify recurring issues and escalate for further analysis and service improvement.
Participate in operational reviews, testing, drills and continuous improvement initiatives.
Adapt to evolving technologies, tools and service delivery models supporting ICTS infrastructure.
Support new systems, platforms and initiatives including automation, cloud services and emerging technologies.
Perform other related duties as required.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Formal technical training in ICT, networking, systems or data center operations desirable.
Job‑Specific Qualification
ITIL Foundation certification required.
Networking certification (CCNA or equivalent) required.
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in ICT operations, network
support, NOC, service desk or data center required.
Minimum years reduced by 2 for candidates with a first‑level university degree.
Experience in monitoring, incident management and operational support of ICT infrastructure required.
Experience in ITIL‑based operational environments desirable.
Experience in 24x7 operational environments desirable.
Knowledge of ICT infrastructure environments (networks, systems, data centers) desirable.
Familiarity with monitoring or operational support tools desirable.
Basic knowledge of scripting, automation or system administration desirable.
1+ year experience in data analytics desirable.
