United Nations Office at Nairobi Human Resources Assistant Jobs; This position is located in the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), Human Resources Management Service (HRMS), Staff Benefits and Entitlements Section (SBE).
Within delegated authority, the incumbent will report to a Cluster Lead or Section Chief.
Responsibilities
Administration of Entitlements:
Carries out onboarding processes of selected candidates and processes personnel actions (PA)
Issues Letters of Appointment and conducts orientation training; monitors contract expiration dates, processes requests and actions contract extensions; conducts eligibility review of staff for contract conversion
Processes temporary and permanent staff movements and related administrative actions including those related to inter-agency agreements
Processes off-boarding and related separation personnel actions
Reviews and prepares documentation for Pension Fund enrollment and disability benefit awards
Advises staff on entitlements and benefits, processes them in the system
Maintains family status of staff members and administers dependency entitlements
Reviews and approves time and attendance requests (Parental leave, sick leave, SLWOP, R&R, etc.)
General:
Monitors implementation and compliance with regulations through ERP systems, ECC reports, and staffing tables
Assists with data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports for information sharing, queries, planning, and decision-making
Assists with visualizations and updating information materials such as web pages or brochures
Ensures requirements and background information used for data analysis are documented
Performs other relevant duties as required

Education
Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is required
Work Experience
7 years of progressively responsible experience in HR management, administrative services, or related area required
Minimum years reduced by 2 for candidates with a first-level university degree
5+ years of experience administering staff benefits and entitlements required
Experience with ERP systems desirable
Experience serving clients in staff administration within UN Common System or similar organization desirable
1+ year of experience in data analytics desirable
Languages
English required; French also a working language of the UN Secretariat
