United Nations Office at Nairobi Consultant Security Information Analyst Jobs;Manage security‑relevant information for Nairobi and neighboring countries, including collection, collation, analysis and dissemination. Provide decision‑useful insights to the UN Designated Official and Security Management Team to enhance safety and security of UN personnel, assets and operations.

Responsibilities

Information Management

  • Research, gather, collate, analyze and disseminate security information.

  • Monitor incidents, daily reports, local media and open sources.

  • Develop information‑gathering and sharing networks.

    Decision Support

  • Provide analysis for planning and decision‑making.

  • Maintain awareness of threats and risks affecting UN operations.

    Collaboration

  • Work under guidance of Principal Security Adviser, Deputy Security Adviser and Senior Operations Officer.

  • Support UNDSS Security Information & Operations in Nairobi.

    Requirements

    Education

  • Advanced university degree required; first‑level degree with additional experience accepted.

  • Police/Military diploma (minimum 3 years) may substitute.

    Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in predictive analysis (military, police, political).

  • At least 2 years international experience in multilateral organizations.

  • Experience analyzing security trends in East and Central Africa required.

  • Prior UN/INGO experience desirable.

    Skills

  • Strong analytical and predictive capabilities.

  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.

  • Knowledge of UNSMS security incident trends.

    Languages

  • Fluency in English required.

  • Knowledge of French or other UN languages an advantage.
