United Nations Human Settlements Programme Sustainable Mobility Consultant Jobs in Kenya;UN‑Habitat is seeking a consultant to provide technical advice and policy support on sustainable and innovative urban mobility. The postholder will coordinate project activities on road safety, undertake research on emerging mobility issues, support proposal development, and contribute to capacity building and policy frameworks across multiple international projects.

Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate implementation of UN Road Safety Fund projects.

  • Identify project delivery issues and propose solutions.

    Technical Assistance & Capacity Building

  • Provide technical assistance and policy development under ACROS and PAAPAM.

  • Conduct training and capacity building activities.

    Proposal Development

  • Develop and assess project proposals on sustainable mobility.

  • Focus on road safety, transit‑oriented development and multi‑modal transport.

    Project Support

  • Support implementation of T‑Gate, ACCESS and ACTIVATE projects.

  • Provide technical expertise on sustainable urban mobility.

    Knowledge Products

  • Develop technical papers and knowledge products.

  • Coordinate partner inputs on safe, inclusive, smart and electric mobility.

    Requirements

    Education

  • Master’s degree required • Bachelor’s plus two years’ experience acceptable.

    Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in Urban or Transport Planning.

  • Strong understanding of urban policy, legislation and sustainable urbanisation.

  • Experience with international organisations and intercultural environments.

    Languages

  • Fluency in English required • Knowledge of Spanish desirable.
