United Nations Human Settlements Programme Field Officer Jobs in Kenya; The Consultant will work with the Planning and Finance Section in the Global Solutions Division of UN-Habitat, reporting to the Chief of Section. The role supports EU-funded projects in Dadaab, focusing on coordination, stakeholder engagement, and community co-design for flood protection and resilient shelter infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Maintain regular engagement with Dadaab–Hagadera Municipality, Garissa County Government, and DRS.

Facilitate coordination meetings, prepare minutes, and track follow-up actions.

Serve as day-to-day liaison with JSB implementing partner, tracking field activities and flagging risks.

Represent UN-Habitat in Dadaab sector coordination forums (Shelter/NFI, Infrastructure clusters).

Maintain updated partnership contacts and activity log.

Collect and compile contextual field data, community feedback, market updates, and emerging risks.

Facilitate multi-stakeholder planning and validation workshops, including logistics and documentation.

Organize community co-design sessions for flood protection and flood-resilient shelter prototypes, ensuring inclusive participation of women, youth, PWDs, and the elderly.

Skills & Competencies

Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills.

Ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize field data.

Experience facilitating workshops and community co-design processes.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Languages

Fluency in English (written and spoken) required.

Knowledge of Somali or Swahili strongly advantageous.
