United Nations Human Settlements Programme Advocacy, Reporting and Data Intern Jobs in Kenya; Under the guidance of the Head of Advocacy and Stakeholders Unit, the intern will support data management, analysis, advocacy, and coordination of Subprogramme 4 of the UN-Habitat Strategic Plan 2026–2029.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Database Management

  • Maintain and regularly update stakeholder database with registrations, consultation records, and contacts.

    Data Cleaning & Consolidation

  • Apply agreed data cleaning rules to ensure dataset accuracy and integrity.

  • Conduct regular data quality checks and validation.

    Data Analysis & Reporting Support

  • Prepare analysis-ready datasets for reporting and stakeholder engagement.

  • Apply AI tools to enhance analysis, automate processes, and improve reporting outputs.

  • Generate summary statistics and analytical outputs using Excel, Canva, PowerBI, SPSS.

    Global Advocacy & Campaigns

  • Develop advocacy materials (articles, blogs, social posts, newsletters).

  • Collaborate to create visually engaging content.

  • Support planning and execution of advocacy events, WUF sessions, and campaigns.

  • Manage logistics and communications for events.

    Strategic Plan Subprogramme 4 Coordination

  • Maintain and update monitoring/reporting database with inputs from focal points.

  • Support collaboration networks and database of focal points.

  • Assist in drafting progress reports and presentations for UN-Habitat leadership and governing bodies.

    Skills & Competencies

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong interest in UN work and commitment to Charter ideals.

  • Ability to interact with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

    Languages
  • Fluency in English required.

  • Knowledge of another UN language desirable.

    Additional Information

  • Applicants must provide proof of enrollment or completion of degree programme.

  • Applicants should explain proficiency in Excel with examples of dataset cleaning, organizing, or analysis.

  • Applicants should describe experience handling datasets with duplicate or inconsistent entries.

  • Previous UN internship experience should be indicated with entity and dates.
