United Nations Environment Programme Video, Photography and Drone Consultant Jobs in Kenya



The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP); is the leading global environmental authority. The UN‑REDD Programme, jointly led by FAO, UNDP, and UNEP, supports countries in forest governance, reducing emissions, and unlocking nature‑based climate solutions. This consultancy will document Ghana’s ART TREES certification milestone through video and photography, highlighting smallholder cocoa farmers, forest communities, and institutions.

Job Purpose

To produce a high‑quality video and photography package documenting Ghana’s ART TREES certification milestone, suitable for UN‑REDD’s global communications and advocacy platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed workplan and shooting schedule, including interview subjects and locations.

  • Conduct 4–6 on‑camera interviews with stakeholders (Forestry Commission, COCOBOD, farmers, communities, private sector).

  • Obtain signed consent and release forms using UN‑standard language.

  • Capture B‑roll footage of cocoa agroforestry, forest landscapes, community life, and institutions.

  • Capture aerial drone footage in compliance with Ghana Civil Aviation Authority regulations.

  • Deliver 50 high‑resolution edited photographs with IPTC metadata.

  • Produce final video outputs with English subtitles and professional colour grading.

  • Deliver raw and unedited footage (including drone) in original format.

    Deliverables

  • Workplan (shooting schedule, interview list, location plan, equipment confirmation).

  • Raw footage (HD/4K, organized by shoot day and location).

  • 50 edited photographs (JPEG, 3000px+, with metadata).

  • 180‑second documentary clip (16:9, English subtitles, broadcast quality).

  • 60‑second social media clip (horizontal and vertical formats, English subtitles).

  • Signed release forms for all interview subjects.

    Qualifications /
    Special Skills

    Education
  • First‑level university degree in Communications, Journalism, Film Production, Visual Arts, or related field.

    Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in video production, photography, and editing.
  • Proven experience filming in rural environments and conducting interviews.
  • Proven experience operating drones and obtaining flight permits under Ghanaian regulations.
  • Ability to produce subtitled video content in English.
  • Experience producing content for international organizations or sustainability themes (desirable).
  • Familiarity with Ghana’s geography, culture, and local languages (desirable).
  • Prior UN or multilateral agency experience (desirable).

    Languages

  • Fluency in English required.
  • French an asset.
