United Nations Environment Programme Senior Coordination Officer Jobs in Kenya
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage outreach activities; design and conduct training workshops and seminars; make presentations on assigned topics.
Lead field missions, provide guidance to consultants and government officials, and draft mission summaries.
Provide overall financial management, ensuring timely contributions by Contracting Parties to the East African Trust Fund.
Coordinate activities related to budget and funding, including programme preparation, submissions, progress reports and financial statements.
Serve as spokesperson and establish collaboration with officials inside and outside the organization.
Ensure effective utilization, supervision and development of staff; guide, evaluate and mentor team members.
Lead efforts to collect and analyze data, identify trends and support data‑driven planning and reporting.
Ensure accessibility, integration and sharing of data across teams.
Perform other duties as required.
Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Environmental Management, Environmental Law, Biology or Natural Sciences (Required).
First‑level degree plus two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted.
Training in data analytics, business analytics or data science is desirable.
Work Experience
Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in marine and coastal programmes, policies and initiatives at national, regional or international level (Required).
At least 5 years of experience in intergovernmental processes, including negotiations and conferences of the parties (Required).
Minimum 5 years managing large marine environment programmes/projects (Required).
Minimum 3 years in resource mobilization (Required).
Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
