United Nations Environment Programme Programme Management Officer Jobs in Kenya; Support UNEP’s work on the One Health approach, integrating human, animal, and ecosystem health into proactive prevention strategies. This position is located in the Nature and Health Unit, Biodiversity and Land Branch, Ecosystems Division. The officer will contribute to programme development, policy support, stakeholder engagement, and data‑driven decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in programme/project development, monitoring, and evaluation.

Conduct consulting assignments, facilitate workshops, and assist in developing action plans.

Research, analyze, and present information from diverse sources.

Assist in policy development, reviews, and preparation of evaluations.

Undertake surveys, design data collection tools, and analyze responses.

Prepare written outputs including background papers, reports, and publications.

Provide substantive support to consultative meetings and conferences.

Conduct outreach activities, training workshops, and presentations.

Lead or participate in field missions, guiding consultants and government officials.

Coordinate budget and funding activities, prepare programme/project submissions, and financial reports.

Collect and analyze data, identify trends, and prepare visualizations for planning and reporting.

Perform other duties as required.

time/resources.

Education

Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Public Health, Interdisciplinary Studies, Social Sciences, or related field required.

First‑level degree plus qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of advanced degree.

Completion of programs in data analytics, business analytics, or data science desirable.

Work Experience

Minimum 5 years’ progressively responsible experience in project/programme management in One Health, biodiversity, climate, or pollution linked to health.

At least 2 years’ relevant work experience in developing countries.

At least 2 years’ experience in international organizations (e.g., United Nations).

Experience in international interagency initiatives involving health and environment sectors desirable.

2 years or more of experience in data analytics or related area desirable.

Languages

Fluency in English required.

French desirable.
