United Nations Environment Programme Nature for Health Systems Approach Facilitator and Project Development Specialist Jobs in Kenya;The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority. UNEP’s Ecosystems Division promotes ecosystem‑based solutions for sustainable development. This consultancy supports the Nature for Health (N4H) Multi‑Partner Trust Fund scoping phase in Kenya, focusing on upstream prevention approaches to reduce zoonotic spillover risk and strengthen the environmental dimension of One Health.

Job Purpose

To conduct the scoping phase of N4H in Kenya, facilitating systemic inquiry, stakeholder engagement, and co‑creation of the Implementation Project Document.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop Shared Understanding

  • Review core materials and engage stakeholders to build knowledge of N4H objectives.

  • Conduct bilateral and focus group discussions with stakeholders.

  • Support systemic practice and upstream prevention in One Health.

    2. Design & Facilitate Workshops

  • Co‑design and facilitate at least 3 workshops with Kenyan stakeholders.

  • Manage workshop dynamics, agendas, and stakeholder lists.

  • Apply N4H scoping tools, gather feedback, and prepare workshop reports.

  • Facilitate BPLU Strategic Workshop to integrate N4H.

    3. Facilitate Partnerships

  • Guide collaborative building of N4H partnership in Kenya.

  • Arrange stakeholder side meetings and support systems thinking.

  • Co‑create common objectives and programmatic structures for implementation.

  • Facilitate Partner meetings to establish roles and activities.

    4. Develop Implementation Content

  • Contribute to the Implementation Project Document.

  • Draft Terms of Reference and key components for the Implementation Phase.

  • Ensure systems thinking is integrated across design and documents.

    Qualifications /
    Special Skills


  • Advanced university degree (MSc or higher) in social, ecological, behavioural, or management sciences.

  • Professional qualifications in coaching, facilitation, or systems thinking (desired).

  • First‑level degree with 2 additional years of experience may be accepted.

  • Minimum 7 years’ postgraduate experience in knowledge management, organizational learning, and partnership facilitation.

  • Demonstrated experience in facilitation and systems thinking tools.

  • Experience in programme management and developing project documents.

  • Communication and presentation skills; familiarity with systems tools (rich picturing, influence diagrams).

  • Experience facilitating workshops in Africa (desirable).

    Languages

  • Fluency in written and spoken English required.

  • Working knowledge of another UN language an advantage.
