United Nations Environment Programme Nature for Health and Biodiversity Economy Project Manager Jobs in Kenya;Support UNEP’s Biodiversity, People and Landscapes Unit (BPLU) in mainstreaming biodiversity economy approaches across landscapes and conducting the scoping phase of the Nature for Health (N4H) initiative in Kenya. Strengthen biodiversity economy tools for conservation and resilience, and facilitate stakeholder engagement for N4H to reduce health risks through environmental determinants.

Key Responsibilities

Nature for Health (N4H)

  • Plan and organize at least three stakeholder workshops on One Health and N4H.

  • Liaise with Systems Approach Facilitator and UNEP to design agendas, presentations, and activities.

  • Prepare reports and summaries of discussions to inform the Implementation Project Document.

  • Maintain communication and engagement with stakeholders throughout the scoping phase.

  • Co‑facilitate partnership building and programmatic structure for N4H in Kenya.

  • Design the Implementation Project Document, including Terms of Reference and key components.

  • Lead project planning, reporting, and submission of the Implementation Project Document for approval.

    Biodiversity Economy
  • Compile case studies and best practices on economic tools for conservation in forests, drylands, and mountains.

  • Conduct stakeholder consultations and investment case analysis.

  • Identify gaps, barriers, and drivers for sustainable livelihoods and resilience.

  • Develop a policy brief highlighting enabling conditions for uptake by governments.

  • Coordinate a policy dialogue session on bioeconomy at CBD COP17 in Armenia.

  • Draft donor‑facing biodiversity economy proposal and baseline report for Vanishing Treasures sequel
    design.

  • Support UNEP’s wider transformational shift towards resilient livelihoods and sustainable biodiversity use.

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Advanced university degree (MSc or higher) in social, behavioral, or management sciences required.

  • Minimum five (5) years’ postgraduate experience in project management and partnership building in multi‑stakeholder environments.

  • Experience organizing and coordinating workshops across sectors.

  • Experience in cross‑sectoral partnership building and collaboration.

  • Strong skills in communication, presentation, planning, writing, and reporting.

  • Experience in biodiversity economy projects, sustainable use of biodiversity, and landscape management desirable.

  • Experience in developing project documents including intervention strategies and logframes.

  • Knowledge of systems thinking approaches desirable.

    Languages
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required.

  • Working knowledge of another UN language an advantage.

  • Knowledge of languages spoken in Kenya an advantage.
