United Nations Environment Programme Information and Knowledge Management Intern Vacancy in Kenya; The overall objective of UNEP’s Ecosystems Division is to support countries in conserving, restoring, and sustainably managing terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems, the biodiversity they contain, and the products and services they provide for human well‑being and prosperity.
This internship is linked to the front office at the Director’s Office, Ecosystems Division. Under supervision, the intern will support information management, digital filing, and office coordination tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Support reorganization and optimization of SharePoint/OneDrive filing structures.
Assist in document tagging, version management, naming conventions, and archiving in line with UNEP/UN standards.
Support migration of documents from older systems or folders to new structured repositories.
Provide staff troubleshooting support for Teams, SharePoint, Planner, and other M365 applications.
Assist in preparation of presentations, visuals, and documentation for internal meetings.
Support logistics and set‑up of meetings.
Maintain updated contact lists for the Director’s Office.
Participate in training and learning opportunities provided to interns by the United Nations.
Qualifications & Special Skills
Enrolled in, or completed, a graduate programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
Enrolled in, or completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s degree
or equivalent).
Graduated with a university degree in Information Technology, Business Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
Keen interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter.
Strong IT skills required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools and Microsoft Power Platform required.
Experience in communication, digital content, or multimedia work (e.g., websites, social media, newsletters, blogs) is an advantage.
No professional work experience required.
Languages
Fluency in English required.
Knowledge of another language is an advantage.
