United Nations Environment Programme Environmental data research and methodology Intern Jobs in Kenya UNEP’s Office of Science delivers authoritative, integrated science to inform action and guide policy processes addressing interconnected environmental challenges. The Data Analytics, Statistics and Intelligence Section supports environmental decision-making by providing data, analysis, and forward-looking insights.

Responsibilities

Assist with development of guidelines and methodology for research on emerging environmental issues.

Conduct research on data sources and environmental topics.

Organize and add to databases.

Support compilation, assessment, and ranking of evidence.

Document data processes, workflows, and methodologies.

Assist in preparation of technical inputs to reports, presentations, and briefs.

Skills & Competencies

Computer literacy in standard software applications.

Keen interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to the ideals of the Charter.

Ability to interact successfully with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Languages

Fluency in spoken and written English required.

Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage.
