United Nations Environment Programme AMCEN Coordination and Technical Support Jobs in Kenya; Support the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN) Secretariat in delivering its mandate efficiently and effectively. Provide programme coordination, technical assistance, stakeholder engagement, and support for the implementation of AMCEN decisions and initiatives under UNEP’s Regional Office for Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare inception report and work plan.

  • Draft technical documents including briefs, reports, and policy notes.

  • Prepare meeting documentation (agendas, summaries, outcomes).

  • Prepare monthly progress reports.

  • Prepare final report summarizing outputs and recommendations.

    Qualifications & Special Skills

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Law, Economics, International Relations, Engineering, or related field.

  • First‑level degree plus two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of advanced degree.

  • Completion of degree or non‑degree programs in data analytics or data science desirable.

  • Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in environmental policy development and natural resource/ecosystem management.

    Languages

  • Fluency in oral and written English required.

  • Knowledge of French an asset.
