Scope of Work
Build Strategic Partnerships & Resource Mobilization
Develop the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Strategy with planning tools in collaboration with senior management and portfolio managers.
Implement donor intelligence strategy including partner needs, priorities, and perception of UNDP.
Develop targeted donor fundraising strategies and approaches.
Conduct external and internal analysis to identify overlaps between CO strengths and partner needs.
Analyze Government of Kenya’s national budget and investment targets for collaboration opportunities.
Assess donor engagement levels and develop strategies to position UNDP as a priority partner.
Ensure Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
Build partnerships with Government of Kenya, IFIs, bilateral/multilateral partners, private sector, and CSOs.
Support organization of high‑visibility events, dialogues, and roundtables to position UNDP thought leadership.
Establish and nurture civil society platforms including advisory boards.
Engage with think tanks and academic institutions for research and development discourse.
Diversification of Resource Base
Deliver resource mobilization and government cost‑sharing targets.
Engage stakeholders on Direct Project Costing implementation.
Identify emerging partners and create collaboration opportunities.
Negotiate alternative financing models with IFIs.
Foster innovations and creative development solutions with private sector.
Develop quality proposals, concept notes, and pitching documents to bilateral donors, IFIs, private partners, and pooled funds.
Strategize ICT‑led innovations in resource mobilization (crowd‑sourcing, campaign fundraising).
Promote Knowledge Management & Communication of Results
Support codification of knowledge and communication of results, especially financing innovations.
Facilitate scaling up of UNDP projects in coverage, policy impact, and sustainability.
Prepare analytical briefs for donor meetings, HQ, and missions.
Perform private sector due diligence and negotiate agreements (MOUs, LOAs).
Assist CO in implementing corporate transparency commitments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; MBA/MSc/MA preferred.
2–4 years’ experience in partnerships, resource mobilization, or program management.
Demonstrated experience in donor relations, fundraising, and partnership building.
Strong analytical skills in budget analysis, policy review, and donor intelligence.
Knowledge of UNDP systems, transparency commitments, and compliance requirements.
