United Bible Societies Director of Audience Focus and Ministry Integration Jobs in Kenya; This role will support the Executive Director of Bible Ministry and work alongside other team leaders to explore, incentivise, and operationalise the potential for an efficient alignment of all components of an integrated approach to product development, publishing, and engagement.

The purpose is to support the local initiatives and missional aims across the UBS Fellowship enabling easy access to the Bible for all audiences.

Located in the Bible Ministry Department, this role will require working with GMT teams and initiatives throughout UBS which are invested in all aspects of Bible Ministry and help them to strategically and operationally pursue ministry integration. The position will consider both traditional and non-traditional approaches to publishing and engagement that would further enhance GMT’s support of Bible Societies.

Responsibilities

To work alongside and motivate leaders in the Bible Ministry Department and across the Global Mission Team (for example, Digital Resilience, Mission Sustainability, Supply Chain) to align work to ensure a holistic approach to product development, publishing, and engagement and a well-integrated service to Bible Societies.

To ensure that the publishing and engagement aims across the UBS Fellowship are part of a holistic planning, project design, and monitoring for Translation and/or Content Creation.

To create a framework for a cross-functional team to work together to ensure an efficient and successful IBM.

To promote and demonstrate a successful and well-integrated approach to Bible Ministry which supports the missional aims of Bible Societies efficiently serving their diverse audiences.

To provide the vision and impetus for Bible Societies to work together in content creation, publishing, distribution, and engagement efforts.

To promote innovation and new technologies for translation, publishing, marketing, and engagement for the benefit of Bible Societies, encouraging strategies and products that increase impact and sustainability of IBM.

To promote skill enhancement, professional standards, and best practices in all aspects of print and/or digital publishing and distribution within the UBS Fellowship.

To participate in the Operational Leadership Team (OLT) in its work in strategy, collaboration, and operation across GMT.

To undertake other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Bible Ministry.

Essential

Skills

A well-articulated vision and enthusiasm for and commitment to IBM, a fully integrated approach to Bible Ministry across all areas of Translation, Content Creation, Technology, Publishing, Distribution, and Engagement.

Proven knowledge of the UBS Bible Translation programme demonstrated through working with translation teams and training.

Proven experience in UBS technology and tools demonstrated through both use and training.

Experience in all other areas of IBM, including content creation, publishing, and engagement in print and digital formats.

A strategic thinker with experience in strategic planning and operationalisation.

A strong understanding of project management, budgeting, business plans and their implementation.

Ability and experience in joint projects, collaborative work, commissioning, and delegated responsibility, leading to win-win solutions.

Experience in working on and with globally-networked teams and staff.

An ability to work collaboratively, including with partner organizations, with an ability to explain complex matters simply.

Proven interpersonal and team skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English).

A gifted leader and people manager with a servant style, evidenced by an ability to inspire, motivate, and encourage staff at all levels in complex environments.

Comfortable working in a Christian organisation with sensitivity to the breadth of church support that UBS enjoys.

Ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally as needed to carry out the requirements of this position.

Desirable Skills and Experience

The ability to communicate confidently (verbal and written) in a language other than English (preferably in French or Spanish).

Experience of working with global networked teams, and a track record in using all available communication tools in the context of a dispersed staff team.
