Job Description

  • Coaches and advises staff in solving problems and implementing resolutions for HR related challenges; provides guidance on corrective actions, HR policy interpretation, and other workplace challenges

  • Develops effective relationships to promote positive employee relations across the organization.

  • Provides advice for department managers on how to deal with employees, most of all in extraordinary situations

  • Lead HR employee relation related program, such as Employee Engagement survey,

  • Participates in and supports the documentation of investigations of workplace complaints and allegations such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, and policy violations.

  • Prepares analysis and recommendations to drive action for stronger employee engagement and retention.

  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzing trends or opportunities for feedback or improvement particularly in areas related to employee engagement.

  • Manages relationships with external clients, vendors, partners, and consultants as needed.

  • Consistently demonstrates and promotes UB’s performance competencies, with special emphasis on building trust and serving others.

  • Monitors trends in employment practices and advises on appropriate proactive action.

  • Remains current with Federal, State, and other HR related laws and regulations.

  • Engages, collaborates, and partners with all levels of
    management to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

    Job Requirements

  • Ability to effectively solve problems and make decisions

  • Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HR systems

  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills for both English and local languages

  • Ability to present information and bargain with employees and line managers from different levels

  • Knowledge of effective office management practices and records management techniques.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.

  • High degree of confidentiality and diplomacy

  • Ability to work at a fast pace and handling multi-tasks when necessary.

  • Maintains a high level of professionalism in the resolution of employee issues

  • Ability to work in teams and work under pressure

  • Solid Research Skills
