United Bank for Africa Relationship Manager – Public Sector Jobs in Kenya



Job Objective(s)

Responsible for developing, growing, and managing customer relationships within the Public Sector to increase the Bank’s revenue through marketing of products and services. The role involves:

  • Growing the Bank’s share of Public Sector business by building and maintaining relationships with government institutions.

  • Driving trade business opportunities across African countries where UBA operates, networking with multinationals and large corporates to leverage UBA’s trade services.

  • Managing Public Sector portfolios to deliver tailored financial solutions and world‑class customer service.

  • Spearheading budget preparation, annual marketing plans, and strategies to achieve growth objectives.

  • Driving client acquisition and retention through consistent relationship management.

  • Establishing sales strategies in liaison with product development teams to meet evolving customer needs.

  • Conducting market research and competitor analysis to strengthen market presence.

  • Monitoring office income and expenditure to ensure profitability.

  • Recommending viable risk assets and developing conglomerate banking relationships.

  • Designing product offerings tailored to public sector needs while maintaining regular contact with parastatal heads and executives.

  • Coordinating marketing of regional trade opportunities, import/export financing, and services across UBA’s footprint.

  • Building and maintaining a regional trade sales pipeline and ensuring structures, systems, and resources are in place to service trade
    customers.

  • Keeping abreast of local and international trade developments and competitive offerings.

    Job Requirements

    Education

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (MBA/MSc preferred) in Banking or related disciplines.

  • Professional qualification in Customer Relationship Management and Sales & Marketing.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ cognate experience in management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity
