Unique Personnel Environmental Technician – Johannesburg South Africa

Job Description

Reporting to the Group Land Remediation Manager, You will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of all major land remediation activities and providing oversight of remediation work carried by the group subsidiaries across various business units.

Execute the Land Remediation Strategy as well as ad hoc remediation work including:
Soil and groundwater sampling and other data collection

Direct, manage and assist in the execution of soil and groundwater remediation activities

Collect periodic samples of surface and groundwater at various business units and record and interpret results when required
Conduct periodic environmental and/or land remediation audits at various business units to determine compliance with legal regulations and guidelines

Design, develop and maintain land remediation/environmental database.
Preparation of presentations, reports and detailed summaries

Compliance with all regulations and company procedures to maintain a safe working environment for relevant team members.

Compliance with environmental legislative requirements with specialist knowledge of Part 8 of the Waste Act

Collaborate with various business units in maintaining accountability by presenting findings and proposed solutions to key management personnel, based on in-depth research and investigation efforts

Inspection and facilitating of make good of various environmental related infrastructures such as fences, dams, roads, dumps, etc.

Qualifications

Degree / Diploma in Environmental Management / Environmental Science / Chemistry / Microbiology / Biotechnology or NQF equivalent.

Matric / Grade 12

Skills

Minimum 3-5 years environmental management experience

Salary / Package

R360K - R540K CTC per annum
